James has been truly amazing. Right when we returned ho
me from his awesome 6 week position as a law clerk with Taylor Porter in Baton Rouge, he got started on preparing the house and Landon's nursery for his homecoming. In the picture, we are at the LSU Super Regionals baseball game in Baton Rouge. They are awesome and we so enjoyed the games while we were in town. Yeah for them winning the College World Series...Geaux Tigers! While in BR for 6 weeks, James and I were blessed enough to get to stay with a dear family friend Glenda Chambers who is the Mom of boys that James, Drew, and Brian grew up with when they lived in Baton Rouge. She was the most incredible hostess for us and we could never thank her enough for her hospitality and generosity as we may not have been able to take the incredible opportunity to work at Taylor Porter without her support. We miss her so much and also miss her sweet little dog Sparky who we of course fell in love with during our time there.
In May, we went to DC for brother Brian's graduation from MBA school at Georgetown. It was a wonderful weekend and we really enjoyed the family time with brothers Drew and Brian, Mom and Dad Cohn, Aunt Barb and Uncle John, and cousin Jane and Randy Debnam. The graduation was great fun as were the celebratory dinners, etc. On our last day in DC, the Cohns had a family baby shower for us that was amazing.

Our wonderful friends and family in Houston also had a baby shower for us two weekends ago. It was great to see friends and family and we are SO thankful for the many gifts that were much needed. Thanks so much to Denie "Mom" Lunsmann and my best friend Leslie and Aunt Judy and Uncle John and Mom and Dad Quayle for hosting the shower.

Samson, Daisy May, and Zep are all adjusting well to the new baby stuff and Mommy's growing belly. Sam is a little scared of the high chair and Daisy wants to jump in the crib and snuggle all of the soft blankets and especially wants to snuggle my belly ALL the time. It is so cute! We are working hard to train them on how to be gentle around the baby and know they will do great when we bring their new brother home. We will now have 4 'kids'! Crazy!

Back to amazing James...while also working part time, he has been installing dog gates and car seats, setting up cribs and mobile, pack n' plays, a dresser and changing table, putting up blinds, sanding and re-painting doors, putting up a new screen door to the deck, power washing the entire house, getting ready to install wood floors, and getting Landon's nursery ready to paint. He really is my Hero and will be the best Daddy in the whole world. I am so proud of him and can't believe I am married to the most incredible man in the whole world! He is so careful to serve me while I am carrying our son even when I don't ask for anything at all. He makes sure we eat healthy meals, draws me baths, does all of the pregnancy massage techniques that we learned in our class, helps me relax (this is hard because I always try to do too much:), and is working hard to prepare to help me though the birth which we are really hoping will be a natural birth (meaning I will totally depend on his strength and encouragement to get through it)! James has a patience and love about him that is truly a gift from God. I don't know how he is so incredible; Jesus is truly working through him in awesome ways!
Lately I have been in total 'nesting phase' which I thought was a myth but really does happen! :) I planted a small vegetable and herb garden which is doing very well! We have fresh thyme, rosemary, mint, basil, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, bell peppers, hot peppers, and more! James is so impressed with my garden...he didn't think it would work! :) I think I may have inherited a little bit of the gardener gene from both of my grandmothers who had incredible gardens. Who would have thought? Thanks to pregnancy we now know! :)
Mama Cohn, Landon's Nana, made Landon a beautiful blanket complete with a cute tennis star
logo on the corner! He is going to love it. Thanks to the Cohns for a superb brunch and baby shower. We so appreciate all y'all do for us and baby Landon is so blessed to have such awesome family and grandparents on both sides!
Cousin Butch Lehman and Aunt Sandy came all the way from New Braunfels and she made us
the most gorgeous quilt for Landon. It has a Noah's Ark theme which goes perfectly with his nursery. Now we are torn on whether to let him snuggle with it or hang it on the wall since it is the most beautiful quilt either of us has ever seen. Landon will love it either way! He will probably learn some of his first bible verses from it which is amazing! :) Aunt Sandy you have been such an amazing support and shown us so much love throughout our marriage...thank you for encouraging us and showing us the Lord's awesome love. We love you so much!
Susi Looney, my first grade teacher, and her husband Mike also came to the shower which was so special. She gave us this huge heavy box and reminded me that the gift was coming from my
first grade teacher. :) We were SO excited to open a whole box of Dr. Seuss books for Landon! Yeah!!!!!!! We will probably have them all memorized by the time he's a few months old. :) What a special gift for him and the rest of our children someday.
We cherished our time with many of my dear friends from childhood to high school, family, and neighbors we grew up with. Landon is so blessed to have such a community in Houston of people who love so much him already! Thanks to everyone for coming and investing in our first son's precious life! We love you all so much! :)
We were also able to spend Father's Day in Houston by Aunt Judy's pool with all of the family
which was perfect. We had catered Mexican food, volleyball, and lots of family time and relaxation. It really was the perfect day.
James got some good Father's Day stuff and is so happy that from now on he will be able to celebrate with our precious children. It was such a blessing to get to hang out with my awesome Dad and my Papaw and celebrate their amazing legacy in our family. We love you Dad and future Jetta (meaning Grandpa in Czech) and Papaw! Y'all are wonderful!
Since the last update our dear friends from work LeeAnn and Chuck Taylor had a baby girl, Salem Zannah Taylor (the coolest meaning...she who sews peace and love). She is adorable and we could not be more excited for them and for Landon to have such a sweet playmate soon! Cousin Kate had another beautiful son, Kaden Joseph Mercer, who is SO cute! We got to meet him while in Houston and he is wonderful. Can't wait to see our three boys run around together soon! Another fun playmate for Landon is Samuel Tucker Gomez who is the sweet new son of our friends Hollie and Justin from church. They will be in Sunday School together which will be so fun!
In the past few months, God has really shown us patience, perseverance, and so much love. His grace and true love for us are what keep us going. We could never thank Him enough for the love and provisions he has shown our family during this time that could be so hectic. As James and I grow deeper in love with our awesome God every day we also grow closer together as He prepares us raise our sweet son...what an amazing journey He is taking us on! Well, that is sort of a small recap of the past few months though I am sure many other fun things happened I cannot recall since Landon is now consuming part of my brain. :) Love you all so much! I am going to be better at posting to this blog I promise! As we get closer to Landon being born we will both try to update pics and info about how he is doing. So far he is right on target to bless us with his sweet presence around 9-9-9. :)
