Samson Aslan Cohn ~ Our four pawed Angel

We recently found out our four pawed angel that we got while still engaged in Colorado - has bone cancer and has only days left.  We are so sad but cherishing the times we have left with him.  He's truly the best family dog ever.  He has been with us through premarital counseling, two careers (as a puppy he stayed under James' desk in the engineering firm:), figuring out marriage, our first home, our first pregnancy, snuggled up next to my tummy every night, welcoming home new baby LJ, law school, moves across the country, birthday parties, graduation parties, playgroups, pregnancy with Nolan, protecting baby Nolan and LJ, playing in the yard with little Landon and watching over him while I nursed baby Nolan, a horrible miscarriage while he snuggled with me bawling for days straight, rejoicing over new pregnancy and new life with sweet baby Caleb, our new home remodels, planting my garden with me every spring for six years, thousands of runs in the dark after I tucked the boys in and James was home - could never get out the door till late and he always protected me and barked at anyone suspicious, trips to the beach, camping, and really part of every family memory we ever made.  We have been reading Dog Heaven a ton and praying he will not be in pain and when he is he tells us it's time.  We love him so much.  Also praying for Golden Retriever Rescue application that's in and just waiting on a match.  It's like adopting a baby!!!  Home visit, multiple phone interviews, etc...we are glad for that so hopefully the patch will be perfect for our family!  More Samson pics to come - he's been allowed to sleep on our bed, eat off the table, etc - anything he wants.  Sweet little guy.  We can't imagine life without him.
