At about 2.5 mos this was one of Landon's first genuine big toothless smiles!Above is how we found Landon at 3 months during his so called 'nap'!

As you can tell from the above pics, our little angel is growing and developing like crazy and it is so hard to keep up with him that I haven't had time to post on here in 2.5 mos! :-) We have had such an amazing time watching Landon grow and celebrating many 'firsts' with him. His first Thanksgiving was super fun. Uncle Brian came to share it with us from DC. The meal was yummy and Landon was just excited to hang out with Uncle Bri and play with the cool piano toy he brought just for him! We took our Christmas card pics with Brian's help and did all the Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving. It was great to see Brian and he was so good with our little angel!

On December 5th I turned 26 and Landon got a cake and flowers for me! :-)

Landon's first Christmas was an adventure. We went on a plane all the way to Colorado! His first ever plane trip was a fun and exciting time...he was wide eyed and just wanted to check everything out.

One the first short hop, he ate with Mommy on the way up and slept the whole way down. We thought he was a champ and were excited for the long flight from Charlotte to Denver! It started out great although we were a little nervous about sitting next to a teenage boy who actually was super understanding and sweet to Landon. A few minutes into the flight, Landon would not eat or sleep and started wailing. Turned out he has a HUGE poopy diaper! Daddy came to the rescue and had me stand up while he laid Landon over both seats and changed his diaper. :) Landon was SO happy...the flight attendant came by and he looked backwards at her with a HUGE toothless smile. It was priceless. Then he finally ate a little with Mommy and got a great nap. The only way he would sleep on the plane was in Daddy's arms with his hand over Daddy's hand. My favorite shot of this is below.

We had a beautiful white Christmas in Colorado. Landon was able to enjoy lots of snuggles with GaGa, Jetta, Nana, Popsie, Aunt Cara, Uncle Drew and Uncle Brian as well as Great Aunt Carmen! It was a blast. We went for many snowy hikes, played lots of football, went to fun lunches and dinners (fun for James and I since we usually eat the law school diet...PB&J and anything else healthy and inexpensive:), played lots of intense tennis while Landon watched in awe from the sidelines, and just really enjoyed the family time together.

Landon was super fussy throughout the trip (tired but waking up from naps screaming, fussy around feeding times) and we thought it was due to new surroundings, etc., but upon our return we learned it was due to severe acid reflux or GERD. It was a relief to find out what was causing his fussiness but a challenge to treat and help him feel better. He is now on medication twice a day and we are adding organic brown rice cereal to my pumped milk a couple of times a day which seems to be helping a little. We are praying he grows out of this as soon as he starts sitting up more, etc. which seems to be very common.

Yesterday Landon had quite an exciting day. First of all, he did a huge belly laugh for the first time ever. He had been smiling and laughing a ton but this was an all out laugh! It was SO sweet and I of course cried. Daddy came into the kitchen where I was making lunch carrying Landon around like 'super baby' while he just cracked up laughing so hard. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen! Then we tried organic sweet potatoes for the first time in our high chair. THAT was funny for us but not Landon. We tried not to laugh and tell him 'yum yum' like the books say to do but it was SO hard not to giggle at our sweet little man's funny faces and wide eyes as he learned how to eat with a spoon for the first time. He was not a huge fan of the sweet potatoes so we are going to try pears next. :-)

We have also been doing lots of reading and our favorite books are Go Dog Go (thew book Jetta read Landon in Colorado and since then he LOVES it), Are You My Mother, Guess How Much I Love You, and of course all Dr. Seuss specifically The Tooth Book and Wacky Wednesday. We also have been workign hard on liking tummy time which was a struggle in the beginning. Now we look at this cool piano Nana got us and Mommy lays in front of Landon so he has funny faces to look at. He is really doing great holding himself up and seems to like it a little more although 5 minutes is still definitely the limit.

We also recently started facing out (he has been hiking/doing housework with Mommy in it but facing me) in his Baby Bjorn pack which he thinks is SO funny and fun! We play fetch with the dogs in the backyard and watch them run around. Landon looks forward to this more than anything else. He has begun to pat the dogs and grab their whiskers as well! They love him and really look out for him. When he cries and I don't have the monitor during a nap, Daisy or Sam will come up and 'tell' me by looking at me and then whichever direction Landon is in the house. It's really neat to see that bond.

Our home is now on the market and we plan to move to wherever James lands a great law job in May. He will graduate from Wake Law mid May after our family vacation to Oak Island for a week! It will be Landon's first ever beach trip. We are so excited! Then we will be heading to Texas (near Dallas area...probably around Frisco) unless we have a job in anothwer location. James will take the bar exam classes starting late May then the exam in July and get the results in late August. We are praying that the Lord will show us where to go and all signs point ot Texas now unless he lands a job somewhere else which would be awesome. We have spoken to countless advisors, attorneys, etc. who say moving to Dallas area is the smartest move as there should be countless possibilities upon his passing the bar exam in August. That's what we are hoping and praying for.

Hope this finds everyone enjoying the blessings of this wonderful new year. We are continually overwhelmed at how much we adore Landon. It constantly reminds us of how much our awesome God loves us and makes us wonder how He could possibly love us more than we love Landon although we know it is true! Incredible! I hope to update more often as we have SO many cute pics of and stories about Landon's adventures these days! :-)
